彼女かのじょの声こえは

風かぜが鳴なるように

だんだん、小ちいさくなりました。

Even as she screamed, her voice became thin, like a crying of wind;

彼女かのじょは

輝かがやく白しろい煙けむりとなって

天井てんじょうへ

上あがっていきました。

（天井てんじょう：ceiling）

- then she melted into a bright white mist that spired to the roof-beams,

そして、ふるえながら

煙けむりを出だす小ちいさな穴あなから

外そとへ出でて行いきました。

（ふるえる：to shudder）

（穴あな：hole）

and shuddered away through the smoke-hole....

彼女かのじょは

二度にどと

姿すがたを現あらわしませんでした。

（姿すがたを現あらわす：to appear）

Never again was she seen.
